Becoming a Better Me

Back to health

First off, hello to the two new followers! I’m at 12 and for me, that’s pretty awesome! I’ll check out your blogs too (I always do).

Anyway, yesterday was okay. Actually, it was awful. I did okay throughout the day with my food but then dinner time came. Well, I babysat and whenever I babysit, I always eat a bit of what I make the kids. Last night it was pizza and strawberries. I ended up having a slice and a half along with a cup of strawberries. I had also had a Kirkland slimfast so that was just really stupid of me.

But today I woke up late so I had a nature valley bar for a breakfast and then I just heated up some chicken slices and sauce for lunch. I’m hoping for dinner to have a salad of some kind because that sounds so good. 

I didn’t exercise yesterday. I haven’t today so far but I’m planning on going to the gym tonight. If not, then I will do strength training at home.

Here’s to a great today and last Saturday of the summer!

Done for the day!

With fitness, that is.

I did my 300 jumping jacks.

I went to the gym and did about 34 minutes on the treadmill, starting with a two minute 4.0 walk warm-up, then doing two minutes of jog (5.5) and one minute of running (7.2). I finished with a five minute cooldown.

Then I worked on legs, hips, inner thigh, biceps, and abs on the machines (yeah, I don’t know names… sorry!)

I had my chicken for my early dinner along with a small piece of cake and ice cream because dude, I cannot resist Costco cake.

Also, here are my nieces… The one of the left has the best legs. For an eight year old, she’s not only skinny but she’s pretty lean. Not a good picture but her hamstrings are incredible. And no, she will pose for a picture and I do apologize for the slightly Lolita quality the picture has. But for real, she is my fitspiration hahaha!

Alright, let’s do this!

So I’m babysitting tonight and as much as I love these kids, they are cutting into my late afternoon run ;) It’s hot where I live (the high for today is supposed to be 90 degrees Fahrenheit but it sometimes get to 103… gross) so it’s nice to go for a jog later when the sun is going down. But this won’t be possible tonight and I don’t feel like running in the sun.

But this just means I’ll go to the gym instead today. Which is fine but recently, the best cupcake shop has opened a new location right next to my gym. Great way for business; have to workout to eat cupcakes and have to eat cupcakes to workout. Okay, not really on that last one but I wish :)

Not going to lie

I will only be doing the 300 jumping jacks for the challenge I see floating around tumblr.

And that’s it.

(okay, I may do a minute plank and some push-ups… but that’s it!)

This is what I ate today:

No, not the entire cake. I had a small slice and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. And dude, I am feeling it. Seriously, it’s just sitting there.

Anyway, that’s it for today. Definitely was not a gym or a running day… But it’s okay! We’ll try again tomorrow. Things are crazy around my house ;)

Today was definitely a lazy day

I even had Greek food with my mom and niece tonight. Oh, it was so good.

I did do about 20 minutes of strength and cardio stuff in my room. 10 push ups, 30 seconds of plank, then mountain climbers, then reverse sit-ups, then ice skate glides, then dumbbell row, then squats, then burpees, then high knees, then butt kicks… you get it. And I repeated three times. Then I did my jumping jacks for the day.

I just really need to step it up though because I have been slacking. Tomorrow needs to be a running day or a gym day. I don’t know how well I’ll do with eating though, my whole family is coming over for my cousin’s birthday.

And yes… We got Costco cake.
